Lucknow: A two-day Hemodynamics Course was successfully held at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), Lucknow, bringing together healthcare experts and participants from various medical institutions across the country.
Organised by the Department of Anaesthesiology, the course was inaugurated by Prof. Praveen Kumar Das, Head of the Department of Anaesthesia, who welcomed the guests and highlighted the importance of hemodynamic monitoring in critical patient care.
The inaugural session was attended by eminent medical professionals, including Prof. Deepak Malviya, former Director of RMLIMS; Prof. (Brig.) T. Prabhakar, former Vice-Chancellor of UPMUMS, Saifai; Prof. P. K. Singh, former Director of AIIMS Patna; and Prof. C. M. Singh, Director of RMLIMS. The guests appreciated the initiative and congratulated the Anaesthesiology Department for organising the academic programme.
The academic sessions commenced with Dr Nitin Jain, Director and Head of the Critical Care Department at Paras Hospital, Gurugram, who delivered a detailed presentation on lung ultrasound and the BLUE protocol. This was followed by a lecture on basic echocardiography by Dr Ashutosh Garg, Head of Critical Care at Kailash Deepak Hospital, Delhi.

Further sessions were conducted by Dr P. V. Sai Saran, Associate Professor, Critical Care Department, SGPGIMS, and Dr Shrivats, Assistant Professor, KGMU, who discussed various aspects of echocardiography and its clinical applications. Dr Ranjit Chatterjee, CMO and Head of Critical Care at Swami Dayanand Hospital, Delhi, also delivered a comprehensive talk on ultrasound-based shock management.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Virendra Kumar, Professor in the Department of Anaesthesiology and Course Coordinator, who expressed gratitude to all faculty members and participants for their contribution to the successful conduct of the course.
